im finding more and more that jw's are so illequiped for debate, that they cant even make coherent arguments.
Anyone count how many times one of the elders asked where this young man did his research? The elder's questioning hinted, IMO, at seeming more concerned about finding out if the research involved apostate sources than whether what was found out or learned was truthful!

my firend (who is an elder) recently sent the email below trying to get me to come back.
he freely admits the faults of the wt and even goes on to say that even if they did not have gods holy spirit, he felt they would still have gods blessing as the one true religion.
i thought i would get your thoughts on this as it really is (sadly) delusional.
I read letters like that and continue to be amazed how JWs like him believe this crap. Especially when the GB at first credits Jehovah with having blessed them with understanding, and then in the future change their teachings, yet again, and then claim it was them who were over zealous in reaching a conclusion.

so i was poking around jw.org a lil recently...... noticed this advertisement was still present in the 'privileged' section (ie you gotta have login access).
this was posted on jw.org a little over a year ago (as shown in pic) but since it is still viewable......figured it is fair-game for jwn fodder.

many of you may know that i was brought up a witness and stayed in until the age of 42, even reaching the dizzy heights of being a congregation elder.
i was unusual in that, even as a witness i studied to degree level, on a part time basis, sponsored by my employer.
my first was in chemistry and my masters is in business administration.
As far as the topic of the thread, I'm still somewhat in the stages of "waking" up.
I however no longer feel that the Bible is either inspired or the book of God.
When I sit and compare the stories in the Hebrew testament to fairytales and fables that I learned as a child, they are really not that different. If I believe one, then I might as well believe the other. If I don't believe one, well.................. You get the point.
Once the walls came down, it was hard to believe anything else in the Bible. I agree about it containing things that can benefit people in their lives, but that's as far as it goes. It's no longer any different than listening to Dr. Phil.
